A few years after designing and building a website for young adult author and teacher Melanie Fishbane, we both agreed the site could use a fresh and more modern look and feel. I went through a few mock-ups for Melanie, and finally landed on a simple minimal look with a touch of whimsy. I removed the sidebar from the layout, and streamlined the content for the homepage.

We also freshened up the individual page banners with some new photography that I shot myself, incorporating the stuff from Melanie’s office and bookshelves. The site is now more mobile friendly and has a cleaner aesthetic.
