I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Natural Women Show at the Function Bar on January 17. The evening was an incredible tribute to legends like Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, and Gladys Knight—superbly executed, funky, and soulful.

The Creative Approach: For this set, my goal was to capture the full spectrum of the performance. I provided the band with a comprehensive gallery featuring:

Dynamic Portraits: Individual shots of every member, with a deep focus on the raw energy of the lead vocals.

Emotional Range: I strive to move beyond standard “action shots” to capture the performers’ true emotional states—from serene, intimate moments to high-energy ecstasy.

Social and EPK Ready Content: I deliver both hi-resolution photos for the bands EPK and print purposes, as well as high-quality photos optimized for posting online.

Technical Precision: Live music venues are notoriously challenging for lighting. To keep the atmosphere authentic, I shot with fast F1.8 lenses wide open. This allowed me to pull in every bit of ambient light, creating a sharp focus on the artists with a beautiful, soft background.

Every selected image underwent a meticulous post-production process—fine-tuning color, brightness, and sharpness to ensure the final gallery felt as vibrant as the show itself.

The band was thrilled with the results, and I was honored to document such a powerhouse performance.
